Did you know that you cannot hate someone in the present moment?
It’s true.
You can ONLY hate someone in the past.
In order to hate, you must go through your memory banks and retrieve a mental picture or movie from the past. And you must replay it in the present moment it in order to hate.
Don’t believe me? Then try it for yourself.
Think of someone who really, really upset you. Really pissed you off.
Picture this person before you NOW.
But when you picture him (or her), you are not allowed to retrieve any memories from the past. You can only look at this person in the present moment.
No memories. No past. Just the NOW.
What happened?
If you did this exercise the way I described, you realized that you could NOT hate the person you were picturing.
This is what we unconsciously do when we forgive someone we love, like our children.
Sure, we have our moments when we get upset – but we don’t carry these moments with us into the future. We love our children so much that we wipe the slate clean and picture them in the NOW.
We start over. We begin again.
What I have just described is at least one-thousand percent easier – and faster – than “trying to forgive.”
If you picture someone without the memories that cause you to hate him – the hate disappears.
Be Still – and Flow,
