This morning, after finishing my workout, my son called out to me. “Daddy, I can’t connect to the Internet.”
“It must be disconnected at the main source,”I replied.
“How does it get disconnected?” he asked.
“There can be a lot of reasons. Could be heavy rain or lightning. Or it could be a power outage of some sort. Or a good number of other reasons.”
As I was mouthing these words to my son I thought about the greater implications of his question. We are quick to react to being disconnected from the Internet – but how quickly do we readjust ourselves when we feel disconnected from the Universe?
You’ll know when you’re disconnected from the Universe when you lack harmony within.
When you get up in the morning, if you feel tired, negative, angry, fearful, doubtful or depressed – there’s a disconnect.
This is not a horrible situation, it’s simply information that will allow you to reconnect – if you so choose.
Many people choose to do anything but reconnect when their direct pipeline to the Infinite feels cut off. This is a mistake that leads to misery.
Why not take some time to reconnect, every single day – even when you feel connected?
It doesn’t take long. You begin by paying attention to how you’re breathing.
Shallow stinks. Deep develops.
Think in terms of breathing beyond your lungs. Imagine breathing into the top of your head and feeling it go all the way to the bottoms of your feet. Imagine that your inhale is of a vibrant color that rejuvenates and your exhale is a grey color that rids your mind/body of no-longer-useful toxic substance.
As you pay attention to your breathing, observe your posture. Is your spine straight and elongated? Are your feet flat upon the floor?
Now observe the way you talk to yourself. Notice the chatter going on within. Realize how every sentence you speak to yourself is a mental picture that is setting the stage for your future.
I never cease to be amazed at the words people use to describe what is going on within.
“I feel like an iceberg between me and my goals.”
“I’m getting older. I don’t have many years left.”
“I can’t do that. It’s too hard.”
“I’ve stepped out on a ledge.”
“I’m drowning in debt.”
“You’re killing me.”
“I love him to death, but…”
One of the ways people are taught to turn these negative statements around is via affirmations. And although this is an okay method – it’s incredibly incomplete. Why? Because you’re only dealing with the words. You haven’t touched the feeling – nor have you dealt with your body, wherein your words, mental pictures and feelings are often stored.
Several months ago I was having dinner with a group in Manhattan. One of the people at the table told me that she “had a mental block about making more money.” As she said this I noted where the “block” was.
Without saying a word, I reached up and grabbed a clump of energy from her, pulled it right out of her field and threw it away.
She looked at me. I looked back. She began to cry.
“Did you feel something?” I asked.
“Oh yeah,” she said.
“Well, tell me. Is the mental block still there?”
“No.”
A week later I checked in with her to see how her finances were doing. Sure enough, she was moving ahead and improving her situation.
The young lady had a piece of energetic clutter in er field. This clutter caused a disconnect in her financial situation. Once the connection was re-stablished, off she sailed.
I’ll write more about this in the future, if you’d like. And if there is anything specific you’d like to see me cover, let me know.
