Here’s a little late night thought to consider, taken from one of my newsletters:
Remember this key phrase: “Don’t Scare Yourself.”
Here are some more details:
A. Don’t fry your brain and nervous system. Work with instead of against yourself.
B. Coax yourself into a state of momentum. If you force yourself to do something, you end up rebelling against the process you’ve imposed on yourself.
C. If you focus on just getting started, it’s amazing to witness how you naturally, organically expand and grow, without angst, without unnecessary tension, without feelings of rebellion or resistance.
D. Getting started is easier than you think. Start with small goals and commitments, such as doing something for five or ten minutes instead of several hours. This type of time commitment may not seem like much, but it removes resistance to action and allows momentum to expand. This is readily seen when you find yourself doing something for a few hours because you lost track of time.
Many of my students who were putting off today for tomorrow, found themselves getting more done in less time by using the method mentioned above.
